Join Our Team as a Savoury Line Team Leader
We’re expanding, and launching a brand-new Savoury Line! This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small, friendly Production team and be part of something fresh. As the Savoury Line Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in coordinating daily production activities, ensuring quality and food safety standards are met, and supporting your team to deliver thousands of delicious cooked savoury products every day. Hours of work: Day Shift – exact start and finish times to be confirmed
Hourly Rate: £14.20 (Band 3)
The Team Leader's days of work will be Tuesday to Friday and the potential hours of work could be 07:00 until 17:00 or 08:00 until 18:00, but this hasnt been set in stone.
We are looking at this role starting beginning of February 2025 for training, and then launching fully in Mid-March (These dates could be subject to change).
This will be a small team consisting of one Team Leader and 4 Key Operatives.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and motivate a team of Key Operatives to meet production targets and quality standards
Organise daily work schedules and allocate tasks to ensure smooth workflow
Provide on-the-job training and support to new and existing team members
Monitor team performance and provide feedback to encourage continuous improvement
Act as the first point of contact for team queries and escalate issues as needed
Production Oversight
Supervise the preparation, cooking, and packaging of cooked savoury products
Ensure all production processes are followed accurately and efficiently
Monitor equipment operation and coordinate with maintenance when issues arise
Support the team in resolving production challenges
Quality Control
Conduct regular checks to ensure products meet our high standards for taste, appearance, and freshness
Ensure consistency in portion sizes, shapes, and cooking times
Address any quality issues promptly
Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure all team members adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols
Oversee completion of CCP checks, cleaning records, and production documentation
Maintain compliance with allergen handling, PPE use, and sanitation procedures
Support audits and inspections by ensuring readiness and documentation accuracy
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a food production or cooking environment
Experience in a supervisory or team leader role is highly desirable
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and production processes
Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team culture
Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
A reliable team player with a positive attitude
