Luke Perry
Operations Training Officer – Human ResourcesSince joining the business as a Production Operative in 2017, I have found myself taken with the friendliness and camaraderie I have encountered across the breadth of the Proper Cornish team.
I spent my first year at Proper Cornish learning the operation of many areas within the manufacturing facilities, and when an opportunity arose for a Production Team Leader position I received full support and encouragement from my own Team Leader to apply. Having been successful at interview, I learned the ropes of managing a small team, guided by the Production Manager.
Within my role as a Team Leader I was able to work closely with new individuals across the company, and when a new training position came up, it was suggested that it might be a good fit for me, so I applied and was, happily, successful. Fast forward to today, and I am very happy within my role, which has grown with me to include many aspects of recruitment, including inducting almost every new colleague to the company in the last four years, so if you come and work for Proper Cornish you'll almost certainly spend your first day with me!
I have been amazed at the scale of continuous improvement that has taken place at Proper Cornish in the few short years I have been with the company, and I look forward to what the future holds for us all as we continue our journey as part of a larger group.
